VieVinum in Vienna has ended with a record number of visitors. According to the organisers, around 16,000 visitors from 58 nations came to the Hofburg this time, including around 1,000 international traders, sommeliers, restaurateurs and journalists. 550 wineries from Austria and the guest country Greece served their wines from Saturday, 25 May to Monday, 27 May.

Guests were also able to taste German wines from VDP wineries and from Ukraine at masterclasses and themed tastings. Other group and individual presentations showcased wines and sparkling wines from Georgia, Italy, Slovenia, Spain and the Czech Republic.

The organisers had also organised a tasting zone where visitors could sample Styrian Sauvignon Blancs and value-for-money wines, for example. At the "United Nations of Blaufränkisch", there was a tasting bar with over 100 Blaufränkisch wines from six countries to discover. Furthermore, wein.plus editor Alexander Lupersböck hosted a masterclass on the trend topic of non-alcoholic wines.
