The airline Emirates plans to train around 22,000 flight attendants on the topic of wine by the year 2026. The intensive course "L’art du vin" developed for this purpose is divided into three levels, which are geared towards different levels of knowledge: introductory courses, business class, and first class. They are primarily intended to impart knowledge about the top wines served on board.

The new program has been meticulously developed and officially introduced at the Emirates Cabin Crew Training College in Dubai. Each course lasts up to eight hours in the classroom and is supplemented by textbooks, an interactive app, and detailed tasting notes. At each course level, the crew can taste Emirates' extensive wine selection.

To secure some of the best wines in the world, Emirates has acquired its own storage and aging cellar in France, the Emirates Wine Cellar, in recent years. Millions of bottles of wine are stored in Burgundy, some of which will not be ready for tasting until 2035. The wine list on Emirates flights includes wines such as the Louis Latour Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Les Demoiselles 2014, M. Chapoutier Ermitage Rouge Le Pavillon 2012, Penfolds Yattarna Chardonnay 2019, Vega Sicilia Unico 2006 Ribera del Duero, Bolgheri Ornellaia 2012, and Opus One Napa Valley 2012.

In business class, passengers can sample a range of Bordeaux from the 2009 vintage, including Les Tourelles de Longueville 2009 on routes to Great Britain and America, Sociando-Mallet 2009 on European routes, Château Lagrange 2009 on routes to the Middle East, and Larrivet Haut-Brion 2009 on flights to the Far East.
