At the Spanish winery Cepa 21 in Castrillo de Duero, a masked person turned on the taps of five steel tanks at night. Around 60,000 litres of wine with an estimated value of 2.5 million euros poured out. According to the company, wines from the premium brands Malabrigo and Horcajo were among those affected.

The suspected act of sabotage was recorded by security cameras, the managing director of the winery, José Moro, told the Spanish media. It was certainly not an attempted theft, he said. The video recordings showed that the perpetrator obviously knew his way around the winery's facilities, said Moro. It could be an act of sabotage or revenge, the media surmised. The head of the winery said that they had a slight suspicion, but did not want to hinder the police investigation.
