Lafite Rothschild

The Bordeaux premier cru Château Lafite-Rothschild 2023 is being offered en primeur at 31 per cent less than the 2022 vintage and currently costs around 570 euros on subscription at German merchants, while the 2022 is available for around 830 euros. It is considered one of the best wines of the vintage, which prompted the global trading platform Liv-ex to say that the 2023 is the Lafite with the "best price-performance ratio on the market".

The second wine, Carruades de Lafite 2023, is almost 20 per cent cheaper, while Château Duhart-Milon 2023 from the Lafite group of companies is almost ten per cent cheaper. This continues the trend of price reductions demanded by many merchants and observers for the en primeur campaign of the 2023 Bordeaux. Château L'Evangile from Pomerol and Château Pontet Canet**** from Pauillac are also coming onto the market around 30 per cent cheaper than the previous vintage. At the beginning of the week, Château Léoville Las Cases***** from St. Julien announced a price reduction of 40 per cent compared to 2022, which was seen as a signal for the entire campaign.
