The Spanish documentary "The Land of a Thousand Wines" about DOCa Rioja celebrates its premiere in German cinemas on September 26. The film, awarded by the Spanish economic magazine "Actualidad Económica," is an idea of the director and art historian José Luis López-Linares. It showcases the diverse world of the DOCa Rioja appellation and features over 30 experts, including winemakers, oenologists, and wine enthusiasts. It also discusses the three subregions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa, and Rioja Oriental.
López-Linares tells in his film about winemakers whose families have cultivated vineyards for centuries, about a women's collective that strives for solidarity in production and marketing, and about a Michelin-starred chef who seeks the perfect pairing between food and drink.
The 97-minute documentary will be available in over 75 German cinemas starting September 26. The premiere will be accompanied by tastings and panel discussions.
