On October 20 and 21, the "Vinitaly USA" will take place for the first time at the Navy Pier event center in Chicago. This reflects the significance of the U.S. market for the Italian wine industry. The USA is Italy's most important wine trading partner and imported wines worth 792.8 million euros in the first months of 2024 - an increase of 5.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
The organizers expect over 1,000 buyers, importers, dealers, and restaurateurs. No information is yet available on the number of exhibitors, as registration is still open. At a similar event last year, which was not officially called Vinitaly USA, over 1,000 Italian wines and spirits were presented. A nine-square-meter lounge costs exhibitors 5,000 euros plus additional costs.
