For the first time the Tuscan luxury Merlot Masseto of the Frescobaldi family has been auctioned en primeur. The Christie's auction house in Hong Kong auctioned the 2015 vintage in six lots from the winery's cellar, including three six-boxes, two magnums, two double magnums, two imperials and one Nebuchadnezzar. The bottles yielded total proceeds of the equivalent of just under 63,200 euros, which is slightly more than 1,000 euros per 0.75l lot. The Masseto 2015 will not go on sale until autumn of this year.
