Pierre Lurton, director of Château Cheval Blanc in Saint-Émilion since 1990, becomes the new chairman of the supervisory board and hands over the management to the previous technical director Pierre-Olivier Clouet. The 66-year-old Lurton is also chairman of Château d'Yquem and Cheval des Andes, the offshoot of Cheval Blanc in Argentina.
Pierre-Olivier Clouet was personally recruited by Pierre Lurton as an intern in 2004 and has been technical director since 2008. His responsibilities have included the implementation of sustainability practices, agroecology and agroforestry. The company's official statement emphasises the "perfect continuity with the management of the winery since 1998", when the LVMH group and the Frère family bought Château Cheval Blanc for 155 million euros.
