In the coming days, the first wines with mandatory nutritional and ingredient information on the labels will go on sale. While in Austria just a few days ago the first quality wine received its approval number, the first "Federweißer" is expected in Germany. This partially fermented must is subject to EU wine law, just like its Austrian counterpart, the "Sturm". Therefore, they must include a nutritional declaration and an ingredient list. This can also direct via a QR code to a corresponding website where the relevant data is stored. However, this website must not be a webshop, must not contain any promotional information, and must not collect user data. The energy value declaration and any allergens such as sulfites must be stated on the wine label independently of a QR code in any case.

Since the sugar content in fermenting grape must constantly changes, the authorities recommend stating the value of the starting product at the time of marketing for the nutritional information and the maximum value for the alcohol content that would result after complete fermentation.

In Austria, just a few days ago, the first quality wine of the 2024 vintage received its official approval number.
