Moët & Chandon is the most valuable wine and champagne brand in the world, with a brand value of 1.27 billion euros. The brand value of Moët & Chandon has increased by nine percent compared to the previous year. These figures were published by the British consulting firm Brand Finance.
The second most valuable brand is the American company Chandon, with a value of 900 million euros. The champagne brand Veuve Clicquot ranks third, with its brand value increasing by two percent to 873 million euros, while Dom Pérignon ranks fourth with a seven percent increase to 710 million euros. Both of these brands improved their rank by one position compared to the previous year. All four of the most valuable brands in the ranking belong to the parent company LVMH.
The value increases are attributed to strong financial performance. With its value-focused strategy, LVMH's champagne business has seen strong growth in Europe and Japan, allowing it to mitigate the impacts of an unfavorable economic environment in the USA, according to the report.
Rounding out places five to ten are (brand values in millions of euros in parentheses) Changyu from China (644), the Australian brands Penfolds (614) and Yellow Tail (558), Beringer from the USA (493), and again two brands from Australia: Jacob’s Creek (313) and Lindeman’s (247).
Brand Finance also creates a "Sustainability Perceptions Index." In the wine and champagne industry, sustainability is a decisive factor for nearly 11 percent of customers when making purchase decisions. Companies that reduce pesticide use, recycle water, and treat their workers fairly are becoming increasingly attractive to consumers. Moët & Chandon also leads this ranking.
