On Friday, September 27, the new German Wine Queen and successor to Eva Brockmann will be elected. In the preliminary decision, Charlotte Weihl from the Pfalz, Julia Lambrich from the Mittelrhein, Katharina Gräff from the Nahe, Marie-Sophie Schwarz from the Mosel, and Annalena Baum from Rheinhessen (image from left) prevailed against seven other competitors. They faced questions from the jury, led by the three master jurors Yvonne Heistermann, President of the Sommelier Union Germany, Robert Joseph, journalist, and Sommelier World Champion Markus del Monego MW.

The final election gala will be broadcast live on September 27 starting at 7:30 PM on TV (SWR Fernsehen) and online from the Saalbau in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. All viewers of the TV show, the livestream, or in the hall can choose between the three candidates pre-selected by the jury from the five finalists during the show. The audience voting can be done via mobile phone, tablet, or laptop through the dialogue forum "meinSWR".
