On November 7, wines directly from the cellar of Château La Mission Haut-Brion***** will be auctioned at Sotheby’s. This celebrates 40 years of ownership by Domaine Clarence Dillon. The auction will feature 700 lots with an estimated value of 1.2 million euros. These include vintages from Château La Mission Haut-Brion starting from 1920, as well as wines from the Saint-Émilion Grand-Cru estate Château Quintus, which the Dillon family acquired in 2011.

Highlights of the offering include a double magnum La Mission Haut-Brion 1983 (estimated value 600-830 euros), a six-liter Impériale La Mission Haut-Brion 1986 (estimated value: 1,670-2,260 euros), and a double magnum La Mission Haut-Brion 1989 (estimated value: 7,750-10,150 euros), as well as a 12-bottle case of Château Laville Haut-Brion 1985 (estimated value: 2,260-2,860 euros). Additionally, some exclusive events will be auctioned, including the opportunity to visit Châteaux La Mission Haut-Brion and Quintus, as well as a dinner at the two-star restaurant Le Clarence in Paris, followed by a tasting at the restaurant's wine shop, La Cave du Château.

In May 2022, the CEO and Chairman of Domaine Clarence Dillon, Prince Robert of Luxembourg, sold his personal wine cellar at Sotheby’s for around 5.6 million euros. This was the largest quantity of wine ever auctioned directly from a winery for charitable purposes. The proceeds supported an organization researching mitochondrial diseases. In 2016, such a disease was diagnosed in Robert of Luxembourg's youngest son, Frederik de Nassau.
