The Italian wine group Santa Margherita, based in Veneto, takes over the Roco winery in the Willamette Valley in Oregon (USA). It is the first winery outside Italy for the Marzotto family company. According to the Wine Spectator magazine, the takeover includes the wine production plant, the brand and the current stock of Roco Winery. The purchase price is not known. Roco's founders, Rollin Soles and Corby Stonebraker, will continue to hold a minority stake and sole ownership in the associated Wit's End winery. Santa Margherita plans to expand Roco's current production. It will mainly produce Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
