Masi Agricola
Image header

The listed wine company Masi Agricola has signed a preliminary agreement to take over the Casati family's Tenuta Casa Re vineyard in Oltrepò Pavese (Lombardy). The property includes 13 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with Pinot Noir, and a Liberty-style villa. Masi Agricola intends to focus more on bottle-fermented sparkling wines, confirmed the managing director of Masi, Federico Girotto (pictured left). The company, which specialises in Amarone, already produces sparkling wines at the Conti Bossi Fedrigotti winery in Trentino and, since the purchase of Canevel Spumanti in 2016, also produces Prosecco in Valdobbiadene. The definitive closing is expected in January 2024. Masi will take over direct management of Tenuta Casa Re at the end of the current financial year.
