The wine merchant Hawesko wants to expand its existing core brand online shop to include a marketplace. This is to be available to customers from the beginning of 2024. The e-commerce division contributed around € 242 million in sales to the consolidated result of € 671.5 million in 2022.

The marketplace is not to become an open portal like Amazon, where registration is sufficient. Interested merchants must first contact Hawesko, where it will be checked whether the potential partner's online offering complements the existing range in a meaningful way. Only then can external dealers place their articles. The users will see directly by whom which article is sold and shipped.

Currently around 5,000 wines are offered on Hawesko.de. This number is expected to rise into the five-digit range with the upcoming marketplace. In a further expansion stage, other luxury products could also be included. In this way, Hawesko says it wants to offer an "attractive one-stop shopping experience for premium wine purchases".
