The German Wine Institute (DWI) is once again organising a nationwide "WineWalkingWeekend" from 27 to 28 April 2024. In cooperation with the regional wine promotions, around 120 hikes with various activities on the topic of "pleasure hiking" will take place in almost all wine-growing regions. The groups will be led by trained wine guides with local knowledge.

The state winery Schloss Wackerbarth in Saxony offers a hike around the castle's vineyards, in the Palatinate a wine adventure hike is organised in Leininger Land under the motto "Of Palatinate heroines and Riesling with parasols", in Rheinhessen there is a wine hike at Selzbogen with myths and stories. In the Rheingau, hikers can follow in the footsteps of freedom fighters and great poets in the Hallgarten vineyards.

One highlight is the "Royal Wine Hike", which takes place in a different wine-growing region every year. In 2024, the German Wine Queen Eva Brockmann will accompany a herb hike in Franconia. The approximately 3 km long hike starts on 27 April 2024 at 14:00 at the Weinbau Keller in Hauptstraße 6 in Ramsthal and ends at 17:30.

All dates and hikes can be found in the DWI's online events calendar .
