Agricole Gussalli Beretta acquires a majority stake in the Bolgheri winery Fabio Motta. Founded in 2009, the winery in Castagneto Carducci covers around ten hectares and produces around 40,000 bottles annually. The son-in-law of the well-known Bolgheri winemaker Michele Satta will continue to be responsible for production.

The Gussalli Beretta family is primarily known as an arms manufacturer; the group from Brescia is the oldest arms manufacturer in the world. The agricultural branch already owns several wineries in Italy: Lo Sparviere in Franciacorta, Castello di Radda in Chianti Classico, Orlandi Contucci Ponno in Abruzzo, Fortemasso in the Barolo region and the Steinhaus winery in South Tyrol. With the purchase of Fabio Motta, the Gussalli Beretta family now cultivates 130 hectares and sells 650,000 bottles.
