The blogger and winemaker Dirks Würtz has presented the first German wine of his "W-Files" project. With the project financed by crowdfunding he wants to produce high quality wines with the best winemakers in the world. Together with his partners Gerd Seith and Rob Andersen he has now filled a Rheingau natural wine under the name "Orion".
The grapes from Hallgarten and Rüdesheim produce a cuvée of Riesling and Müller-Thurgau. The wine is matured for 10 months in stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels. Würtz has dispensed with an AP number and declared it a Rheingau country wine. The Orion costs 15 Euro per bottle and is available directly from him.
