A collection of various bottles of the 2021 Château Mouton Rothschild***** has realised 237,500 euros at Christie's auction in Paris. The auction included six 0.75 litre bottles, three magnums, a double magnum, an Impériale (six litres) and the only Nebuchadnezzar (15 litres) bottle filled to date. In addition, the buyer is invited to visit the château with three guests, take part in the unveiling of the 2022 vintage label next year and cook and dine with celebrity chef Yannick Alléno at his three Michelin-starred restaurant Le Pavillon Ledoyen in Paris.
The proceeds from the sale will benefit the Association Antoine Alléno and will be used to set up a support programme for the families of young victims of violence. The initiative was founded by Yannick Alléno after his son Antoine was the victim of a violent crime. He thanked Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, Chairman and CEO of Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, for the family's generosity, adding: "Since its creation, the association has received stories every day from all over France about the loneliness of families when they are at their weakest and most vulnerable after the brutal loss of a child. Our aim is to help them and support the bereaved."
