Oenologist Denise Cosentino will succeed Olga Fusari at Ornellaia *****. Cosentino, who comes from Calabria, will take over responsibility for the wines of the top winery alongside the new production director Marco Balsimelli. Denise Cosentino has worked for various wineries in China since 2014. Most recently, she was technical director at Domaine de Long Dai in Shandong of Domaines Barons de Rothschild. After completing two degrees in oenology and viticulture at the universities of Turin and Montpellier, she gained experience in Tuscany, Bordeaux, New Zealand and Germany.
The entire Ornellaia team was replaced in 2023 after estate director Axel Heinz and oenologist Olga Fusari left the winery. At the Masseto winery, Marco Balsimelli is supported by oenologist Gaia Cinnirella.
