The Austrian design studio destilat has won the renowned London Dezeen Award 2020 as "Best Large Workspace" for the redesign of the Clemens Strobl wine factory in Wagram. The work prevailed against 4,300 competing projects from all over the world.

From 2017 to 2019, destilat restored and designed the conversion of the factory as the heart of the 15,000 square metre historic site with its business premises and manor house in Kirchberg am Wagram. The interior design is characterised by building block-like cubes with light as the central design element, the colour grey in all nuances and an aesthetic that focuses on the work around wine. The vaulted cellar, tasting room, kitchen and office form massive spatial bodies that interlock with the architectural shell and take on various functions.

The jury of 70 members included architectural stars such as Norman Foster, Konstantin Grcic and Daniel Liebeskind.
