The Vinitaly wine fair in Verona attracted 97,000 visitors from 14 to 17 April. This represents a slight increase compared to the previous year (2023: 93,000 participants). However, the figures are still below the pre-Corona level, when the fair welcomed around 125,000 visitors.
The figures from abroad in particular have developed positively. 30,070 trade visitors from 140 countries took part in the trade fair, including 1,200 buyers (+20% compared to 2023). The most strongly represented group were US-Americans with 3,700 participants (+8%), followed by Germany, Great Britain, China and Canada (+6%) and Japan (+15%). Trade fair organiser Veronafiere was very satisfied with the Vinitaly Plus platform, which exhibitors and visitors can use to arrange appointments. With a total of 20,000 business appointments, use of the system has doubled this year compared to 2023.
According to Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere, Vinitaly is consolidating its positioning and demonstrating that it plays a central role in the international marketing of Italian wine.
The next Vinitaly will take place from 6 to 9 April 2025 in Verona.
