The Veronafiere trade fair company has now postponed the 54th Vinitaly until next year after all. The important wine fair will thus be cancelled in 2020. It is the first cancellation since the fair was founded 54 years ago. It will now take place from 18 to 21 April 2021.
"Due to the coronavirus emergency on a national level with the urgent decrees of the Prime Minister as well as the recent spread, some decisions have become urgent", Veronafiere explains the cancellation in a press release. The trade fair company initially wanted to make a decision before Easter. Maurizio Danese, the president of the trade fair company, explained: "To date, over 200 events have had to be postponed, which means a total loss of almost six billion euros and puts 51,400 jobs at risk
