Wine was harvested in the park of the world-famous Schönbrunn Palace in Wien. The Liesenpfennig vineyard in the baroque garden of the former imperial residence was planted in 1753, but fell into oblivion at the end of the 19th century. In 2009, the winegrowers' association "WienWein", in cooperation with Schönbrunn Palace, replanted the vineyard with around 500 vines of the varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Welschriesling, Neuburger, Weissburgunder, Zierfandler and Rotgipfler. Since then, the winegrowers have taken turns to look after the vineyard and auction off the Viennese Gemischter Satz in an online auction after it has been filled. The main part of the proceeds goes to the SOS Children's Villages.
