The VDP winery Graf von Kanitz in Lorch (Rheingau) has appointed a new plant manager: Marc Leitis took over from Jens Pape at the beginning of September 2020. Leitis was previously employed as cellar master at the Rheingau Barth Wine and Sparkling Wine Estate in Eltville-Hattenheim. He also worked as a consultant at the Vogel wine laboratory.
The winery once belonged to the reformer Friedrich Karl Reichsfreiherr von und zum Stein and has been owned by the von Kanitz family since 1926. In addition to the VDP, it has been a member of the organic association Ecovin since 1992.
