French photographer Thierry Gaudillère has defended his title as "Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year". As in the previous year, he won the award for a picture from his series "Grape Harvest in Burgundy". This year's winning photo from the "Places" category is the unusual drone shot of harvest workers, a horse and a tractor casting long, sharp shadows (see image).

Second place went to Frenchman Jonathan Thevenet for his photo of a family with children having fun during the grape harvest in Burgundy. This photo won the "People" category. Guenhaël Kessler's photograph "In the Tank During Alcoholic Fermentation" won in the "Products" category and took third place overall.

Wine writer Joanna Simon, one of the judges, said: "The overall quality of the images was outstanding, and I love the way the three category winners capture the conviviality and excitement of the grape harvest and the sheer beauty and colour of winemaking. The two vineyard photographs show the grape harvest, and yet they couldn't be more different - different people, places and times of day captured from very different angles."

The award is part of the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year Awards, which were presented in London. All finalists are on display at the Mall Galleries in London until 9 June and can be viewed online.
