Peer Holm has resigned with immediate effect as President of the Sommelier-Union Germany as well as Secretary General of the Association de la Sommellerie International (ASI). The reason for the resignation are accusations by women who accuse Holm of misconduct. He commented on the accusations in a statement: "I was not aware and I did not recognise signals, which neither excuses nor diminishes my mistake. I am sorry from the bottom of my heart that I caused distress or even hurt others with my actions. For this I would like to apologise especially to the women concerned. I have had conversations in order to understand and learn. It has become clear to me: This behaviour does not fit with my own self-image."

Peer Holm had been president of the Sommelier-Union Germany since 2017 and secretary general of the Association de la Sommellerie International (Asi) since 2020. It is unclear who will take over his posts. For the time being, the vice-presidents Marc Almert, Christian Frens, Philipp Künemund and treasurer Michael Wangler will jointly manage the business of the Sommelier-Union Deutschland. A new president will be elected at the regular board election next year.
