15.000 visitors from almost 50 countries met 550 Austrianwine producersand the host country Switzerland at the 20th anniversary edition of VieVinum from 9 to 11 June at the invitation of Österreich Wein Marketing GmbH. VieVinum thus set a new record for international trade visitors.
According to ÖWM, a total of 1,150 retailers, journalists, sommeliers and restaurateurs came to Wien for the trade fair, a good half of whom visited VieVinum for the first time. On the day before VieVinum, around 350 people had already accepted the invitation to the flight tasting of "Great Sauvignon Blancs and Burgundy" followed. The seminar "Austrian Wine Update" of the ÖWM managing director Willi Klinger was as fully booked on Saturday as the Masters of Wine Tasting "Best Old World Pinot Noir outside of Burgundy" with Anne Krebiehl MW, Andreas Wickhoff MW, Stephan Reinhardt and Willi Klinger.
Never before had the degree of professionalism of the trade visitors and their interest in Austrian wine been so great,was the tenor of many trade fair winemakers. Austrian wine is thus increasingly gaining profile and attractiveness on the global stage.
