The 2024 grape harvest in Napa Valley has begun. Grapes for sparkling and white wines have been harvested since 5 August. This is around six weeks earlier than in 2023, when the harvest took place later than usual due to cool weather and good rainfall, but delivered promising qualities.

According to winegrowers, the start of the harvest in the first week of August is "on the earlier side of average." Cool nights ensured good acidity levels and pronounced flavours in the Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes for the sparkling wines. The main harvest of red wine grapes is expected to start in the first week of September. Last year, it did not start until mid-October.
