The champagne house Moët & Chandon has presented its new top champagne. The "Collection Impériale Création No. 1" is the house's first Brut Nature champagne and is being released to mark the 280th anniversary of the company's founding.
Création No. 1 is a cuvée from seven vintages. The new Moët & Chandon flagship is complemented by the vintages 2000, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012, which together account for a further 42.5 percent. In addition, there are 15 per cent of the 2004 vintage, which has been matured on its lees in the bottle.
The champagne consists of 50 percent each of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It was disgorged in March 2022 and has now been bottle-aged for another 18 months. The Collection Impériale Création No. 1 is expected to retail for around 200 euros.
