The Roederer champagne house has expanded its range of products with another luxury line. The champagnes of the "Cristal" series now on sale are called "Vinothèque" and are only available in very small quantities.

The line currently consists of Cristal 1995 brut and Cristal 1996 rosé, which were disgorged ten years ago and have been matured in Roederer's cellar since then. They contain only seven grams of residual sugar per litre to make the long maturing time possible.

According to Roederer, only 400 bottles of Brut champagne and 200 bottles of rosé are sold worldwide. Magnum bottles are not planned at this time, according to Roederer. The "Vinothèque" champagnes currently cost between 1500 and about 2000 euros per bottle in retail stores. Further vintages in the line are to follow.
