A collection of rare wines and spirits from the historic cellars of King's College Cambridge will be offered by Christie's at an auction on 8 June. Among them is the 45-bottle "Generations of Jayer" collection of the legendary Burgundy winemaker Henri Jayer. An original case of Echezaux 2001 by Georges & Henri Jayer is estimated at 59,000 to 82,000 euros, a case of Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 2005 by Jayer's nephew Emmanuel Rouget at 28,000 to 41,000 euros.
Other Burgundy rarities include wines from Domaine Roumier, Domaine Coche-Dury, Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Armand Rousseau and Domaine Leflaive.

Among other wines, whiskies such as the extremely rare Bowmore 1964 Trilogy (estimate: 59,000 to 82,000 euros) and a set of seven whiskies from Royal Salute will be up for auction. This is inspired by Queen Elizabeth II's extensive brooch collection and is being offered to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee (estimate: €117,000-€176,000). It is one of only 21 bottlings that come in handmade Dartington crystal decanters in presentation boxes that reflect the Queen's personal style.

Christie's officials stress that the extremely rare wines and spirits were of the best provenance and condition and rate the auction "as the likely highlight of this year's season".
