The wine trading group Hawesko Holding AG (Hanseatisches Wein- und Sekt-Kontor) reports the best result in its company history for 2021, with sales of € 680 million and a pre-tax profit of € 53 million. The increase in turnover of ten percent compared to the previous year is primarily the result of increased demand in the e-commerce segment, which grew by 17 percent in turnover. The group also achieved significant growth in the retail segment (five percent) and in B2B business (seven percent).

Hawesko CEO Thorsten Hermelink does not expect a repeat of the result in the same period of 2022 due to the Covid lockdown in the first quarter of 2021, but anticipates "a slight decline in sales compared to the same period of the previous year". For the year as a whole, however, he remains "optimistic that the sales level will be above that of the period before Covid-19".

Hawesko Holding AG owns the Hawesko, Jacques', Wein & Co, Wein Wolf, Abayan, Grand Cru Select, vinos.de and wirwinzer.de retail brands.
