Hollywood actor and director George Clooney and his wife Amal are planning to launch two of their own wines, according to reports in the local southern French newspaper Var Martin. The grapes come from four hectares of vineyards on his Domaine de Canadel estate in the Coteaux Varois en Provence appellation in the south of France, which was acquired in 2021 and is mainly planted with Vermentino. The harvest has so far been delivered to the local co-operative.

The Clooney couple have engaged winemaker Laurence Berlemont as a consultant. She also works at Château Miraval for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and at Château Marguï for Star Wars director George Lucas. She said that Clooney has already taken part in several cuvetages and has "a good palate". He is a very modest person. According to Berlemont, the wines will be released in the coming months under the brand "La Bastide Saint-Georges" ("St George's Country House"). It is not known whether the allusion to the star's first name is intentional.
