The owners of Franciacorta producer Guido Berlucchi, Cristina, Arturo and Paolo Ziliani, want to take over the Vigne Olcru winery in the Oltrepò Pavese region of Lombardy from the Brambilla family. This winery has a modern winery and eight hectares of vineyards in the hills of Oltrepò, which are mainly planted with Pinot Noir. A small hotel and restaurant are attached.

The father of the Ziliani siblings, together with his friends Giorgio Lanciani and Guido Berlucchi, after whom the company is named, produced the first sparkling wine in the Franciacorta region of Lombardy in 1961. According to Paolo Ziliani, President and Export Director of Guido Berlucchi, this experience has enabled the company to "take on new challenges in another area of Lombardy that is known for wines produced according to the classic method."

Massimiliano and Matteo Brambilla comment on the transaction: "We could not have found a better partner for this agreement than the Ziliani family. It is exciting for us to know that our winery is in experienced hands and that even higher quality will determine its future and that of our entire wine region. We are sure that the result will be that Oltrepò and its wines will receive the international recognition they deserve."

The purchase was supported by the joint venture Colline e Oltre S.p.a of the banks Intesa Sanpaolo and Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lombardia. The aim of the company is to further develop the Oltrepò Pavese region and support projects for reorganisation and improvement in the areas of viticulture and gastronomy.
