Sotheby's first wine and spirits auction in Switzerland achieved a total result of 592,000 euros. Magnum bottles from the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) took centre stage. Wines from DRC accounted for eight of the ten most expensive lots. At the top were three magnums of DRC La Tâche 1971, which sold for around 130,000 euros, double the lower estimate. Six magnums of La Tâche 1976 realised around 39,000 euros, while three single magnums of La Tâche 1971 were auctioned for 33,700 euros, 28,500 euros and 19,500 euros. A bottle of DRC Richebourg 1947 went under the hammer for 18,200 euros. Two bottles of Chambertin 1959 from Domaine Armand Rousseau sold for 20,700 euros, double the lower estimate.

Large DRC formats will also play a major role in an online auction by US auction house Bonhams Skinner, which ends on 17 June. Among others, an Impériale (six-litre bottle) La Tâche 1971 with an estimated price of 140,000 to 186,000 euros, a Magnum Romanée Conti (estimated price 37,000 to 46,000 euros), and one Impériale each from La Tâche 1994 (18,600 to 24,000 euros) and Richebourg 1994 (13,000 to 16,700 euros) will be auctioned. Bottles of Henri Jayer Echezeaux 1993 and Screaming Eagle 2003 will also go under the hammer.
