Domaine Pierre Vincent

Pierre Vincent, general manager of the Burgundy domaineLeflaive ***** since 2017, is leaving the company at the end of the year to start his own winery. Vincent bought the Domaine des Terres de Velle in Auxey-Duresses together with friends in July 2023 and renamed it Domaine Pierre Vincent. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Terres de Velle was founded in 2009 and owns seven hectares of vineyards in 16 different appellations in the Côte de Beaune, including the Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne and several Premier Crus. The average age of the vines is 58 years, with the oldest vines being 95 years old. "Even the vineyard consultant Marco Simonit (inventor of gentle pruning, note) is surprised by the quality of the vines. This vineyard is a completely unknown rarity," says Vincent and attributes the anonymity of the vineyard to the fact that the wines have never been exported. He intends to convert the vineyards to biodynamic cultivation, which he had also done at Domaine Leflaive. "My wish is to position the estate as 'haute couture artisan'."
