The traditional charity wine auction of the Hospices de Beaune is scheduled to take place for the 160th time on November 15, 2020 in the Halles de Beaune, despite the Corona pandemic. This has been announced by the auction house Christie's, which is organising it. Private bidders could bid by telephone and online, while wine professionals could also participate in person, subject to strict hygiene requirements. In addition to the necessary pre-registration and compulsory use of masks throughout, few allocated places with sufficient distance to the neighbours are planned. Walking around in the anterooms is also prohibited. The proceeds of the auction are to benefit severely or repeatedly ill Covid patients as well as the children of those who have died of the pandemic.
