The fashion and luxury goods group Chanel is taking over the wine merchant Lavinia with its Bordeaux trading house Ulysse Cazabonne. Lavinia was founded in 1999 and operates five wine shops, including one on Avenue Victor Hugo in Paris, one in Madrid and one in Geneva, as well as shops in airports and restaurants. The company was a pioneer in e-commerce and has operated an online shop since 2001. With 70 employees, it achieved a turnover of 22 million euros in 2022. The range of over 6,500 wines and spirits from all over the world offers both fine wine and entry-level products.

Ulysse Cazabonne, based in Margaux, owns the Châteaux Rauzan-Ségla (Margaux), Canon and Berliquet (St. Emilion) in Bordeaux and the Domaine de l'Île organic winery in Provence. With 50 employees, it has a turnover of 76 million euros. The trading house will thus push the sales of its wines at Lavinia and wants to benefit from Lavinia's expertise in e-commerce, said general manager François Dugoua.
