The Alsatian winery Cave de Ribeauvillé has expanded its wine range with two non-alcoholic wines. A single-varietal semi-sparkling wine made from Muskateller grapes and a still wine cuvée made from Muskateller and Silvaner have recently become available under the name "Ribo". Both wines have less than 0.5 percent alcohol and contain around 35g/l residual sugar. They are cold vacuum distilled so that the alcohol evaporates at around 28 degrees Celsius. This is to preserve the aromas as much as possible.

According to the winery, the "Ribo" line is the first alcohol-free wine brand from Alsace. David Jaegle, sales director and export manager of Cave de Ribeauvillé: "The Ribo wines were created because our company wants to be a pioneer in this segment. We want to offer a high-quality range for all those who don't want to or can't drink wine."

The Ampelidæ winery from the Loire Valley has also added a non-alcoholic Sauvignon Blanc, the "Hecht Zero", to its portfolio. It is to be presented at the Millésime Bio fair at the end of February.
