The French wine industry has cancelled all the country's major wine fairs that were to take place at the end of the year. Wine Paris 2020, which was supposed to draw about 140,000 visitors from 3 to 7 December in Paris, has been cancelled, as have the fairs in Lyon (29 October to 2 November), Reims (6 to 9 November and Brive (11 to 13 December). The prefecture responsible has not yet given a final refusal to the fair in Lille (20 to 23 November), which is also very popular with the public and otherwise attracts about 100,000 visitors. Their announcement to make a decision three days before the opening is neither realistic nor to be organised, the organisers stressed.
