The Cité du Vin has just passed the 2 million visitor mark. "It's a symbol that feels good! The last two years have been particularly trying for our sector of activity. Passing this symbolic mark, which confirms the attractiveness of our site, is both a success and a consecration for all our teams", confides Philippe Massol, Managing Director of the Fondation pour la culture et les civilisations du vin, which manages the Cité du Vin.

Indeed, almost 6 years after its opening and after two years marked by a health crisis of unprecedented proportions and its consequences (administrative closure for 10 months, worldwide drop in tourism...), the Cité du Vin has succeeded in establishing itself as an essential stopover during a stay in Bordeaux. For 20% of its visitors, it is even the reason that motivated their visit to the capital of Gironde.

Thus, more than 400,000 visitors are welcomed each year (half of which are foreign visitors) in this cultural holiday resort. The Cité du Vin's permanent tour, its temporary exhibitions, tasting workshops and other cultural events appeal to wine lovers, families, connoisseurs and professionals alike. The temporary exhibition Picasso l'effervescence des formes, which has just opened (and runs until 28 August), has already attracted over 10,000 visitors. Not forgetting the panoramic view of Bordeaux from the Belvedere, the restaurants (Le 7, a panoramic restaurant on the 7th floor, and Latitude 20 on the garden level), the Wine Cellar and the Boutique, a real concept store based on wine... a very varied offer that confirms its attractiveness.
