Global consumption of wine and beer will fall by about nine percent this year due to the Corona pandemic and will recover only very slowly in the coming years. In Germany, the overall volume decline is expected to be around five percent. This is the finding of an analysis by the market research institute IWSR, which specialises in alcoholic beverages. According to this analysis, sales could not reach the 2019 level again until 2024.
