Dominik Diefenbach, who has been the oenologist at Weingut am Stein - Ludwig Knoll**** in Würzburg since 2014, is moving to Winzerhof Stahl*** in Auernhofen. Winemaker Christian Stahl, who is also head chef at the winery's own two-toque restaurant, wants to concentrate on further developing the company. As the third manager, Max von Dungern will concentrate on quality management and the switch to organic viticulture.

A native of Baden, 43-year-old Diefenbach studied viticulture at Geisenheim University and gained six years of experience at wineries in the south of France, Australia and South Africa. According to Christian Stahl, his keen interest in the culinary arts makes him a perfect fit for the company. Diefenbach's focus will be on further developing the wines and emphasising the different vineyard sites. In this way, he will sharpen the style of the wines and the profile of the winery in order to "advance to the absolute top in German viticulture", explained Stahl.
