The Max Müller I winery from Volkach is now a member of the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP). This means that the regional association VDP.Franconia has 28 member wineries and the federal association 199.
The Max Müller I winery is located in an estate built in 1692 by Würzburg prince bishops and is owned by the fourth generation of the family, Christian Müller. With father Rainer and the family, he cultivates 21 hectares of vineyards in top locations in Volkach, Sommerach and Escherndorf. The main variety, with a 40 percent share, is the Franconian lead variety Silvaner.
