The Tuscan wine company Marchesi de' Frescobaldi buys the Tenuta Corte alla Flora in Montepulciano from the Roman businessman Sergio Cragnotti. The estate comprises 35 hectares of vineyards and produces mainly Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, but also Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah.

The Frescobaldi family already owns more than 1,500 hectares of vineyards in the most important Tuscan appellations, distributed among various top estates: Castello di Nipozzano and Castello di Pomino in Chianti Rufina, Rèmole in Sieci, Tenuta Castiglioni in Montespertoli, Tenuta Perano in Gaiole in Chianti, Tenuta Ammiraglia in Maremma and Tenuta Castelgiocondo in Montalcino. The company also owns the top winery Ornellaia in Bolgheri and Luce della Vite in Montalcino as well as Attèms in Friuli.

The group, led by Lamberto Frescobaldi, is the second most profitable wine company in Italy, according to a recent analysis by the Mediobanca credit institute, with a net profit to sales ratio of 24.5 percent.
