The Dr. Loosen winery **** from Bernkastel an Mosel has founded its own Chinese company to import and market its wines. In doing so, Dr Loosen wants to strengthen its market presence in response to the increased demand for German wines. In the past two years, China's consumers have turned to dry fruity white wines more often than before. German wineries in particular have benefited from this. According to data published by the China Association for Imports and Exports of Wine and Spirits (CAWS), German wine imports to China grew against the general downward trend. According to the data, Dr Loosen accounted for 15 per cent of the total value and 13 per cent of the volume of German wine imports to China in 2022, making it the leading German wine producer there.

With the establishment of the new company, the winery has also made its debut on China's largest social media platform, WeChat, in order to be able to communicate directly with retailers and consumers. The company is to launch Riesling wines from Germany as well as from Dr Loosen's collaborations with Château Ste. Michelle in the USA and Jim Barry Winery in Australia.
