The Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) has appointed Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (VDP) as its official partner. The London institute and the VDP have been working closely together for many years, especially on the study programme.
"In the past year alone, the VDP has hosted a specialist tasting and an introductory course, as well as co-organising a student seminar," commented Sarah Harrison, IMW Head of Study Programmes and Development, on the partnership. "We are delighted to officially welcome VDP to our international community of supporters and look forward to a long-lasting partnership." VDP Executive Director Therea Olkus said, "IMW's global network is unique in the world. We are pleased to now live our joint activities in an official partnership." The VDP wants to support the study programme and "expand and enrich the network on both sides".
Currently, 415 wine experts from over 30 nations hold the title "Master of Wine" (MW).
