The online platform Wine Searcher has published a ranking of the most expensive Rieslings in the world. The first eight places are occupied by Prädikat wines from the Mosel wine-growing region, especially Trockenbeerenauslesen. They are followed by two sweet wines from the Rheingau.

The ranking is headed by a Trockenbeerenauslese from the Egon Müller vineyard in Scharzhofberg (photo). The second most expensive Riesling also comes from this winery, but costs just under 11,000 euros less.

According to Wine Searcher, wines from the Riesling grape variety are the only ones whose prices can compete with white Burgundies.
