The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) will apparently leave its headquarters in Paris. Currently, the "UN of Wine" with 48 member states is looking for a representative building. The current headquarters in the eighth arrondissement, which it has been using since 1966, is no longer available in the long term after a change of owner and use. The OIV's leaders have therefore asked the French government to find a new headquarters for it this year.

Three cities have already submitted proposals to the OIV: Bordeaux, Dijon and Reims. The proposal from Bordeaux, which is supported by the resident associations and local elected officials, for example, envisages housing the headquarters in the historic building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). It occupies "an important place in the history of wine". It was there that the classification of Médoc and Sauternes was officially presented in 1855.
